Well yeah, maybe even after every login; but the nagging does get a bit tedious when it's continuous on virtually every page on every login doesn't it?

Yeah I agree a nag off option would be great or a "remind me in 5 logins time".

Hi MaXsiM. I think I was more in fear of getting something wrong than bugged by the message if the truth be known.

It would nevertheless be nice IMO to be able to turn the nag off until next time WordPress was used.
I wasn't aware of a default auto-update function in 2.6 but I may be wrong: As I installed the plugin to upgrade from 2.5.* anyway, it was there from when I started with 2.6 -So I can't say yea or nae on that.

I suggest installing the plugin on any installation(s) still running 2.5.* as it simplifies everything greatly when upgrading.

I can understand your emotional reaction. I also dislike the painful "upgrade now" message... but hey, this time i was really happy to see it!

I was looking forward to WordPress 2.6 which has so many great new features on board - and finally resolved some 2.5 oddities...

I start to understand that the WordPress-Developers don't want to force us users to anything or just want to get on our nerves. They have good reasons to make upgrading such an "super important" thing.

The Plugin is a good idea, though i think there's such a feature in WP 2.6 anyway - but i'm not sure... If not, this plugin is definitely something for me because i run many WP-Blogs and each is hot for upgrades :)

I always follow the official blog posts so i can make better plans and free some space for the upgrading process without getting surprised too much...
