In every test that I've seen, Avast comes a very poor 2nd to Avira (even more so with version 9!) PC forums are almost full of people having problems with AVG Avira Antivir is without any doubt in my mind the best free and paid security, at the moment! Things do change however!!

I have been using Avast since 2006 and a few others since the days of never having to have any AV Software installed and still never had a problem. These days it's all a matter of keeping your anti virus and system files up to date and the temp files cleaned out. Sadly most folks just don't do this and hence the trouble begins. A little commonsense goes a long way.

Avast, spybot online 24/7...no issues. Vista 32 bit, Windows updates...& just installed Threatfire 2 months ago. All free and issue free!

Avast 4 home,spybot S&D ,malwarebytes,spywareblaster.Lately WOT for both browsers;Ok by now.
